Privacy
The short version: PrintBoss Costing keeps your products and prices on your own computer, and we do not track you. This page explains the few things that do involve us.
What stays on your computer
Everything you enter (products, sizes, materials, costs, prices, your shop name and logo) is stored only on your computer. We never receive it. The app has no accounts, no third-party ads and no analytics or usage tracking.
The app does show links to PrintBoss (our full print shop system). Nothing is sent when you look at them; if you click one, your browser opens our website, which is covered by the website section below.
What the app sends to us
Only when you use a license, the app contacts our licensing service:
- Activating: your license key, a short code that identifies your computer (a one-way code, not your name or files), and your computer’s name.
- Status check: about once a day, when you are online, your license key only, to learn whether the license is still valid. Being offline never locks the app.
The free version does not contact our licensing service at all until you activate a license.
Checking for updates
About once a day, when you are online, the app asks GitHub (where we publish releases) for a small file that names the newest version. Like any web request, this shows your internet address to GitHub. Nothing about you, your license or your shop is sent. If a newer version exists the app tells you and asks before it downloads or installs anything; it only accepts files that carry our digital signature. You can turn the automatic check off in Settings.
What we keep
For each license we keep the buyer’s name and email, the license key, the number of PCs allowed, the computer codes and names that activated it and when, and any note we add about the payment. We use this to deliver your license, provide support, handle refunds and prevent misuse. It is stored with our licensing service provider, Supabase. We do not sell or share it for marketing.
This website and downloads
This website has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and the download host (GitHub) may record technical information such as your IP address when delivering pages and files, under their own policies.
Your choices
Email appprintboss@gmail.com or text Jen Carlo Maglaque at 0975 813 1700 to ask what we hold about your license or to have it deleted. Deleting a license record means we can no longer activate that key on a new computer or confirm a refund.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes too.
